AQ Series Tilt Mechanism
Or... "Wow" this thing looks complicated.

Below is the mechanical contraption that raises and lowers AQ series stern drives.  It is located just inside the boat transom on the port side of the transom shield. In essence it is a basic screw jack device driven by an electric tilt motor. Items 1 thru 10 are the control parts or electrical controls for the motor. [item 19]. One solenoid for up and one for down [item 4] and an end-stroke limit switch [item 5] to prevent over-loading the tilt motor.

The most common service is replacing a relay. [item 4] These are Bosche relays which are pretty much plug-n-play.

The most common problem is that the relay box cover [item 1] has to fit securely to the relay box [item 3] so as to hold the limit switch [item 5] in place properly. If not, the tilt motor with overload when tilted completely up or completely down.

The 3 self-tapping relay cover screws must hold the cover [item 1]  properly to the relay box [item 3]. And the 2 relay box retainer bolts/nuts must hold the relay box [item 3] firmly to the top of the bearing housing cover [item 11].
