    The proposed sculpture to adorn the new convention center was announced recently. At a cost of about $600,000... this is what they came up with.

As of 11/21/99: the powers to be, in San Diego, have decided to "Review" other alternatives... 

As of 03/01/00: This deal is over and other alternatives are under consideration.

Our comment: Thank heavens that someone in San Diego government came to their senses.
