| Loose Oil Filter Adapters 1998 (BY) 5.0 & 5.7 Litre | |
Through routine product testing, OMC has found a number of oil filter adapter bolts that were tightened incorrectly. This may lead to a failure of the oil filter gasket and serious engine damage. You must check the adapter bolts on all 1998 (BY) 5.0 and 5.7 Litre engines with serial numbers between 1311119 and 1312331. Remove the oil filter and tighten the adapter bolts to 18-20 ft. lbs. (24-27 N·m). Install and tighten a new filter after tightening the oil filter adapter bolts. This procedure will be covered by OMC for the units still under warranty. Submit a warranty claim to the OMC Warranty Department. Please use the following codes when filling out the request form: |
