Some customers may experience hard or delayed shifting of the engines listed above if they are equipped with a dual-prop vertical drive. This condition is even more prevalent when F-series stainless steel propeller sets are used. The dual-prop vertical drive puts the engine under a constant load which makes shifting out of gear harder than normal. Two Shift Interrupter Kits. P/N 3358163 for 1998 (BY) and older, and P/N 3858179 for 1999 (VVT) and newer, have been developed to correct this situation. Order either kit from OMCs Genuine Parts. |
