| Belt Tension All Models | |
There have been several reports of repeated drive belt failures caused by insufficient belt tension. Check belt tension half way between the crankshaft and appropriate accessory pulley using one of the following methods: Use a belt tension gauge to set belt tension to 75 + 10 Ibs. (33,6 + 44,5 N). Use light thumb pressure and check for 1/4 in. (6,4 mm) belt deflection. Please make a note in the appropriate service manual of the belt deflection specification being reduced to 1/4 in. (6,4 mm). |
