If you really want to get into the boat business, go to your
local boat
shop, apply for a mechanic's job and learn the ropes. Any good
dealership will send you (free of charge) to all the service schools you
can handle. You will also get on the job training and experience that
you could never get on your own. If after 10 yrs, or so, you still want
to go on your own, you might be ready. [maybe] Do yourself and your
potential customers a favor... DO NOT start up your own boat shop unless
you have been into boats professionally before.... Owning a pizza
business does not qualify you to be in the boat business. Auto mechanics
are not boat mechanics. I do encourage you to get into this business.
There are too few you really put in the 100% required to really be
successful.
Good luck: lance [25yrs in the biz and counting]

Shame, shame, shame... Your going to discourage this guy from
getting
into the boat business. You need to let him know about all the babes in
bikinis that hang around the boat shop....

But all the women that hang out around our shop wear
wadders. :-)
