When installing and/or replacing an electric fuel pump, be sure to check for the presence and function of the necessary safety and operational equipment that are necessary to keep your fuel system in compliance with Coast Guard regulations.
   The diagram below shows these basic requirements.

Note that electric fuel pumps installed on outboard engines should only be used as a primer system and not used as a full time fuel delivery system.
